Our directors have been working on this unusual topic since its infancy. They have individually built up extensive global experience, which is now brought together under STEN and is available for the benefit of STEN members. Heat mapping. Multi-building energy modeling. Advice about different technologies. Lessons learnt.
We have deep networks and strong relationships that span the globe. These connections encompass all levels of government (federal, state and local), many significant NGO’s, all reputable technology suppliers and many academics with expertise in these areas.
Successfully implementing wastewater heating/cooling in a city requires collaboration of different stakeholders. Apart from needing technical expertise, soft skills are needed to bring people together and communication skills are essential to make sure everyone is on the same page. STEN directors include non-technical people with these soft skills needed.
Our directors have experience obtaining funding through grants. Applying for funding support can be a job on its own! STEN can provide administrative skills and resources to look after the application paperwork and subsequent compliance.
Doing something new can be scary. Understanding and managing risk can help calm the nerves and provide reassurance. STEN can help by providing workshops, seminars and coaching. We can make introductions to city officials in other cities who have already walked this path.
